Ballymaloe Cookery School students from the last 30 years gathered to celebrate the school’s 30th Birthday. It was a fantastic reunion and thank you to all who joined us, it was a great catch up.
On Saturday we had an outdoor ‘Celebration Feast’ of Bill Casey’s Smoked Salmon, Belvelly smoked Mackerel, Ballycotton shrimps, Organic pulled pork sandwiches, Vegetables from the Greenhouse, Farmhouse cheeses, Green Saffron curries, Rocket Man salads, Boeuf a Lolo steak sandwiches, Golden Bean coffee, Ice lollies, Philip’s cupcakes and  Blackcurrant fool.
A Gazebo housed long tables where groups gathered to reminisce and catch up.  Gardeners played the Live music  and Darina and Rory gave speeches from bales of hay. Adam ‘Dusto’ O’ Connor created a graffiti make over on the Palais des Poulets, which the hens love!
Inside in the Demonstration kitchen, on display were old photos from the initial building work at the cookery school, the filming of the first ‘Simply Delicious’ show to guest chefs at the school through the years hung for all to see. Copies of each year course group since September 1983 were on display also.
